Camera and Canvas Controls

Canvas movement

There are 3 canvas navigation states: Default (orbit), Pan, and First Person. You only be in one state at a time.

Default state

Orbit means the viewpoint moves around the center or around the selected object/s.

Move viewpoint

Orbit with Left-click and hold on the canvas and move the mouse On a trackpad press and hold and then move. Right-click and hold on the canvas and move the mouse is panning (move on Y and X pane) Mouse scroll (and two-finger swipe on a trackpad) is zooming in and out.

Move object

Left-click on an object and hold and you can move the object on the X,Z plane with the mouse. On the trackpad press and hold

Edit menu bar (open and close)

Click an object to open the edit bar (and close the media bar if open) Click an object also opens the object icons in the navigation bar Unselecting an object by clicking the canvas closes the edit bar

Pan state

Pan means the viewpoint moves up and down and left and right but without changing the distance from the object.

Pan with Left-click and hold on the canvas and move the mouse On a trackpad press and hold and then move.

Same as in default state

Move object

To move an object in pan state the user has to select the 'object move state'

Same as in default state

First Person state

First-person means the viewpoint moves from the angle of view up, down, left, and right while keeping the same position.

To move an object in pan state the user has to select the 'object move state'

Object interaction

Rotate Object

Rotate gizmo shows up on the object. Allows rotating on 3 axes.

Click on the rotate icon that appears after an object/s has been selected

R

  • You can "freely" rotate the object by dragging anywhere within the sphere appearing around the object

  • You can rotate the object around an axis by dragging one of the red, blue, or green circles

  • Use control to enable angle snapping

Move Object (x,y,z)

Note that when an object is clicked and held the user can move it on X and Z. To be able to move it in three dimensions the user needs to get into move object mode.

Click on the move icon that appears after an object/s has been selected

M

  • Use the arrows to move the object along an axis or the squares to move the object along the plane the square lies in

  • You can hold CTRL while moving an object to enable grid snapping

Multi-Select and Delete

Selecting Objects

  • Left Click an object

  • You can select and manipulate multiple objects

  • To select multiple objects hold the shift button while clicking them

Deleting Objects

  • While hovering or while multiple objects are selected press backspace or delete

WASD controls

  • W- forward

  • S - backward

  • A - left

  • D - right

  • Q - Down

  • E - Up

arrows orbit on the X, Z plane. arrows zoom in and out (Z plane). WASD - Is available when pressing down SHIFT.

arrows orbit on the X, Z plane. ⬇️ arrows zoom in and out (Z plane). WASD - first-person movements - is available even without pressing shift.
